My Engineering Lab is a continuously evolving environment where I develop and maintain practical skills across Linux, virtualisation, containers, automation, monitoring, networking and security.
Current Platform
A working environment, not a static demonstration.
The current platform combines Proxmox virtualisation, Linux systems, Docker workloads managed through Komodo, central monitoring and logging, network services, vulnerability management and network security tooling.
Operations
Prometheus, Grafana, Loki, Alloy, Alertmanager and Zabbix provide monitoring, logging, alerting and operational visibility across the environment.
Security
Greenbone, Suricata and Zeek support vulnerability management and network security monitoring alongside firewalling and controlled remote access.
How I Use It
Practical engineering experience.
The environment gives me somewhere to design, deploy, troubleshoot and operate complete systems rather than work through isolated tutorials.
I use it for automation, upgrades, monitoring, incident investigation, backup and recovery testing, security work and evaluating new technologies.
Changes are documented and increasingly managed through Git and automation so the platform also develops the operational disciplines used in larger environments.
