As infrastructure delivery evolved from local server rooms to hosted data centres, cloud services and container platforms, I continued developing my skills and applying existing operational experience to new technologies.

Throughout my career, I have aimed to leave systems more stable, understandable and supportable than I found them.
Technology should be understandable and maintainable by the teams responsible for operating it.
Health, performance and failure conditions should be visible through metrics, logs and alerts.
Access, external exposure, operational risk and threat response should be considered from the beginning.
Automation, documentation and version control should reduce reliance on individual knowledge.
